For Vugge til Vugge ApS, this has been a year of strengthening our team, expanding our reach, and supporting companies in developing products that are safer, and more circular, and responsibly made.
From electronics and footwear to interiors, paper, flooring, and building materials, our work continues to demonstrate that product circularity is not only possible—it is scalable across industries, supply chains, and continents.
This year, we welcomed three colleagues whose expertise and dedication reinforce our mission as an accredited Cradle to Cradle Certified® Assessment Body:
Sebastian Häfele joined as C2C Lead Assessor, bringing extensive experience from the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute and global auditing programmes.
Mikkel Barfod Boll joined as Sustainability Engineer and has begun his training to become a certified assessor.
Virginia Pelliccioni returned as C2C Assessor, re-joining our expanding assessment team.
Their contributions enable us to support more clients, dive deeper into material and supply chain insights, and ensure rigorous assessments aligned with the latest Version 4.1 requirements of the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Product Standard.
With these additions, the team now brings together six nationalities and five native languages — Danish, German, Spanish (including Argentinian and Galician), Swedish and Italian — alongside fluent English across the team, reflecting the truly international nature of Vugge til Vugge’s work.
In 2025, Vugge til Vugge was awarded the Børsen Gazelle Award for the second year in a row—a distinction given to fewer than 1% of Danish companies.
We also earned ISO 9001:2015 certification for our Quality Management System—an important milestone for our clients and operations.
The award recognises not just financial growth, but resilience and long-term strategic focus. For us, this recognition reflects growth driven by purpose: an increasing number of Cradle to Cradle Certified® products assessed across sectors, continued collaboration with clients and their supply chains, and a growing volume of assessment work carried out internationally under the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Products Program.
As an assessment body working with high volumes of confidential data and complex supply chains, this certification reinforces our commitment to quality, consistency, traceability, and continuous improvement. This builds on the recognition of Cradle to Cradle Certified® as a Type I environmental label (ISO 14024), underlining the robustness, transparency, and scientific foundation of the program we work with every day.
In 2025, our work took us around the world as we conducted on-site assessments across diverse industries.
This year included factory visits in:
China
Italy
Vietnam
Romania
Denmark
Austria
Finland
and remote site visits via video with suppliers in:
China
Latvia
North America.
Behind each certificate is a value chain, a production line, and a team of people committed to designing better products.
These site visits and close collaborations are an essential part of the Cradle to Cradle Certified® assessment process. They allow us to verify that the information, data and claims provided are supported by real, physical production practices — not just paper documentation.
"During these site visits, we scrutinise production processes and conditions on the ground, reviewing how materials are sourced, handled and processed; how energy, air and water impacts are managed; and how social and ethical practices are implemented."
In this way, all five certification categories are examined in an integrated manner, based on what is actually taking place in the factory environment.
Over time, this hands-on assessment work has given us in-depth, practical expertise across production systems, industries and geographies. It allows us to assess products with a level of contextual understanding that can only be built through direct exposure to manufacturing realities — strengthening both the quality and credibility of the certifications we support.
In 2025, all new projects supported by Vugge til Vugge were delivered under Version 4 of the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Product Standard. Throughout the year, long-standing clients successfully transitioned from earlier versions of the standard, while new clients achieved certification directly under Version 4.1.
"The transition to Cradle to Cradle Certified® Version 4 reflects the maturity and preparedness of the organisations we work with, who were able to meet more demanding requirements across all five performance categories."
These organizations met requirements across the five performance categories of: Material Health, Product Circularity, Clean Air & Climate Protection, Water & Soil Stewardship, and Social Fairness — under the Version 4.x framework.
An important milestone in this transition was that Vugge til Vugge became the first assessment body approved by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute for one-step verification for both Versions 4.0 and 4.1. This approval was granted on the basis of our consistently high-quality assessments, robust documentation, and thorough verification practices. The one-step process enables a more efficient certification pathway without reducing technical rigor and reflects a strong level of trust from the Institute in our assessment approach.
Under Version 4, companies across multiple sectors demonstrated leadership in circular product design and implementation. In 2025, Vugge til Vugge supported, among others, the following certifications:
Consumer electronics
Bang & Olufsen — Beoplay H100, Beoconnect Core, Beosound A1 3rd Gen, Beosound Level, Beosound Theatre, Beolab 8, Beosound Premiere
Teufel — MYND portable Bluetooth speaker
Footwear and fashion
glerups — Wool slippers
roccamore — Vegetable Tanned Collection and Traceable Collection
Building materials, interiors and flooring
MinAltan — Balconies
Dansk Wilton — Colortec Origin+ and Axminster Origin carpets
furnipart — Furniture handles and profiles
Windmöller GmbH — PU Flooring System Collection and Sound, Noise and Decoupling System
Paper and publishing
Hellefoss Paper AS — Book Paper
Johnsen Print & Digital Media A/S — Printed products
Together, these certifications illustrate how Version 4.x is being successfully implemented across diverse industries and supply chains. For Vugge til Vugge, the focus in 2025 was not on certification volume, but on high-quality verification, successful transitions, and credible implementation of the latest generation of the standard.
We are already working with several new clients whose certifications will be announced in early 2026.
We look forward to revealing these collaborations as certificates are issued and published in the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Product Registry.
The momentum behind circular product innovation has never been stronger, and we are honoured to support companies in turning ambition into measurable progress.
