Circularity Certification Launched

As an Accredited Assessment Body, Vugge til Vugge is proud to offer the new C2C Certified® Circularity product certification launched by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute. This new certification is set to reshape sustainable product design and manufacturing by empowering companies of all sizes to intentionally develop products for the circular economy. It also helps companies align with both current and upcoming regulatory frameworks in the EU and US.

The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute has launched C2C Certified® Circularity, a new certification designed to guide companies of all sizes toward more sustainable, circular product design. This certification serves as a stepping stone to the full Cradle to Cradle Certified® standard, providing a practical pathway for companies looking to embed circularity into their products and systems.

Building Blocks for Circularity

C2C Certified® Circularity is based on the trusted Cradle to Cradle Certified® Version 4.1 standard, with a clear focus on product circularity. By meeting measurable goals in circular sourcing, design, and systems, companies can ensure that their products are optimized for reuse, recycling, and other sustainable lifecycle practices.

This certification helps companies align with evolving regulations and market demands, offering third-party verification of their progress. It’s a flexible, accessible tool for businesses aiming to strengthen their circularity practices while working toward full C2C Certified® certification.

Staying Ahead of Regulations: C2C Certified® Circularity and Compliance

C2C Certified® Circularity helps companies align with both current and upcoming regulatory frameworks in the EU and US.

The certification goes beyond the minimum requirements of the EU’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) by addressing waste at its source and generating a third-party verified Circularity Data Report, which prepares companies for the Digital Product Passport (DPP). In the US, it supports compliance with growing state-level mandates like Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) policies and recycling requirements, ensuring companies are well-positioned to meet evolving environmental standards.

A Practical Pathway to Circularity

By intentionally designing products for circular systems, companies can reduce waste and carbon emissions, enhance product resilience, and prepare for future regulatory requirements. Whether you're a small business or a multinational brand, C2C Certified® Circularity offers a guided process to help you create products that contribute to a circular economy.

Supported by Experience

C2C Certified® Circularity leverages over 20 years of experience from the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Products Program, which has set global standards for sustainable design. It enables companies to tap into a vast network of experts and peers already on the C2C Certified® journey, helping them stay ahead of the curve in circular product development.
